| I like royal purple but mobil 1 is more expensive.
also try to look for Lucus Motor Oil (just one quart). Its good for high mileage engines.

| Yeah i used it in my first car. 95 ford mustang V6 convertible. No lie all i had was a drop in K&N intake and a custom catback Flowmaster exhaust and I could keep up with GT's, until the governor kicked in.
It like help keep the valves and stuff lubed. It gave it a coat. Also look for some engine cleaner. It comes in a can and you put it in when you get your oil changed.

| IMO, your car will still run and operate fine with conventional oil but switching to synthetic is a good choice too. i'd recommend mobil1 assuming your xB is NA and your DD. Lucas, RP, AMSOIL, Eneos, etc are great synthetic oil but just a bit overkill. I use AMSOIL in my 300ZX TT and I think that's still unecessary. | |

I agree with this. Before synthetics came out (Is it just myself and Tommy who remembers those days?) As long as the oil was changed at the manufacturer recommended intervals, no one really had any problems with their cars lubrication system.
What Penzoil did to the psyche of car owners with their 3K change your oil marketing campaign is nothing short of marketing genius. They sold a ton more oil even though the manufacturer specs were like 6-7k's between oil changes depending on driving conditions.
Going back to synthetics, if you peeps run with it, please don't change your oil every 3k's. It's meant to last way longer than that. Therefore a higher price per quart.
