Discount tire

So took the xb to have the tires rotated by discount since i was right there anyway. they do the rotation and are backing the car out and i hear a loud bang. it starts to rain a little so the car is wet i look under the car and a plastic piece under there got ripped off and snapped bolt that mounts. it got caught on the lift so i grabbed my socket set and began to wrench off the other bolt to take this plastic off. the guy tells me " hey this will be a nice car when you get that dent pulled out." I jump and say "WHAT DENT!" hip sized dent on drivers side fender about the size of a softball right on the body line to make it worse. I told them that this was not there pior to service and he of really. so apparently everyone there saw the dent before they took it into the bay. not true but it is 11 to 1 on this. the store manger told me that his staff would never do such a thing. he also stated that company policy is to send a claim to their insurance and they send out adjuster but 9 times outta 10 they say discount is not responsible. so it looks like im out the dough for some paintless dent removal and hopefully it will look ok. i cant believe that this would happen to anyone but victim of circumstance i guess. im not saying all discounts are bad but watch them carefully! careful with these beer can cars they are prey for all.

This happened to me. I had my brakes checked and when I got the car back the rims had a bunch of dents in them....

Sorry to see this happen to you man its never a good feeling. I would go ahead and send in the claim I bet hes just trying to cover his ass. They can claim all they want that they didnt do it but I bet they'll still take care of it.

I hope so but these people at this discount have def done this before and won. so hard to have anything decent anymore. jose the claim dude is gonna look at it tomorrow then i got the ding king on it. damn! oh well hope this kinda ish don't happen to anyone else. def going corporate compliant for sure.

your best bet is to make A Lot of noise. Call hire ups e-mail. Trust me now is the time people dont want to be losing any kind of business to a dent.

i hear ya! im one it and think i have an advantage on this one. friend of mine knows the regional manger for CA. so we will see if not then there are other ways to deal with terrorists. hahaha! click click!

damn man im sorry to hear this. ive been going to discount tires for a while now and have never had a problem but of course because one place is good doesnt mean all of them will be. i agree with Pasquale that you should make alot of noise over it

What I Tend To Do When i take my car to a shop or even the dealer i make sure i walk around the car with the rep and point out anything befor i hand them the keys that way if anything does happen they know it wasnt there ..Some even have like a diagram of a car where they go around and check it with you just like the car rental places and have you sign it.. Just To Cover your end you know..

check. did that, this happened at their hands and the guys didn't want to pony up. these particular guys at this shop apparently do this for fun. will c haha...

I worked at Discount Tire for 2yrs....back in 2000.

And if any Employee damage a car..My manager at the time would Fix it...And wouldnt "hesitate" or give excuses.

So basically if I fucked up a wheel...we would Replace it...etc....

That just sucks the the "Customer is Always Right" doesnt exists that much now...

U should write the District manager or talk to the store manager or their Boss.

OH...My old wheels on my Corolla that were Kinda Procey for me...I took it in for a Flat Repair...

Got the car back with a Chunk of the Wheel missing...They didnt do Shit...and said they did Not do the damage either...When you could clearly see the Shiney new metal showing etc....I was mad at that too.

I guess it depends on what Discount Tire you go too....

this was the discount tire off of boardway in esco. under no circumstances ever go to this on the manager their is a joke and just as bad as the other dudes working at this location. They have it down and ramdomly target drivers with rides better than the ones they currently have. i am going directly above this store and staff manager and have send a letter to corporate. we see what direction this goes in, today the assessment of damage. if this all fails anyone down for an "old fashioned BBQ" hahaha j/k don't worry all i will not fail and will get the satisfaction i deserve.

Do what kirby suggested. And Wilson, that's a good idea. I'm going through this now with my truck. Took it in to get an alignment & it's worse than ever. Also, "coincidentally", the backing plate on the left front tire was rubbing up against the hub after they had it the first time & the oil filter is leaking after they changed the oil. My buddy just bought this shop (Mesa Tire Pros), & I'm hoping he's just working out the kinks. He's taken care of me so far. I've been going to Discount out here by my house since they opened & they've been really good so far. Of course, now that Big J is doing wheels/tires, I'll be hitting him up for my new stuff. That reminds me, I'll be dropping off a couple wheels for ya next week hopefully, J. Been meaning to, but had all this mess going on with the truck, trying to get it ready to pull the trailer for some much-needed vacation time...//TJ

man that sucks. sorry to hear. i never had an issue with discount all the times i used them. but i had a buddy who worked there so that helped. last time i took my car there it was right before i bought kirby's kit for a rotation. everyone like that car so they babied it lol. i wont take it there anymore though, kit made it just a bit too low for even their lowpro lift and i dont wanna take the risk. now i just go to J lol my dad went in for an alignment on his truck awhile back and the putos forgot to check that the steering column was straight and he got it back with a half turned steering wheel when his wheels are completely straight.

so far dent has been pretty much fixed other than a slight wave and inside of fender scratched up. guess it could of been worse but i wish i had just rotated my own damn tires. the claims guy from their insurance also showed up and took pics and made a report. so far no word from discount.
