| I was wondering if anybody in the club has a check engine reader that I could borrow. Its for my civic, it runs good it just has a check engine light, so im not really driving it, don't want to risk a chance of getting stuck somewhere far from home specially with my wife and baby. So if anybody has one that I can borrow and bring home with me, I will return it at the next meet. Thanks. | |

| That is a way to find out. A lot of the time if it turns off everything is fine, but if it stays on that when you need a scanner. Usally the check engine light will turn on after 5000k cause you need a oil change. So disconnect the battery 5 to ten and then go from there.

| What year is your civic? I dont think all models or years have that check engine light/oil change trip sensor like scions. Id just go to the nearest Kragen/Pepboys/Autozone and get a free scan. | |

| Its a 2003. Pepboys charges 89, autozone doesn't do it anymore, and I don't know about kragen. | |

| My lady has a 2006 pt cruiser that trips the check engine also so as long as you take the steps I told you you'll be that much closer to finding out weather you need to pay for the read. | |
