| A few of us SD heads have Tokico's and we all have no complaints. Kevin has TRD's and except for the piston of the front struts being more compressed when compared to the oem and Tokico's he has no complaints as well.
If you're planning to change it up again and go coilovers in the future, I would just save time and money and go with coilovers now. Just go with a reputable brand.
I have had Progress coilovers which I bought used and when it was installed in my car the rears made a rattling noise every time I hit a bump. Also when I would make a right turn to go up a driveway, the drivers side front makes a horrible grinding noise, not sure what caused it, but it definitely wasn't normal.
Then I sold the Progress for Ksports which were brand new, had some issues with those as well. First issue I had was coil bind when I make turns, it would make clunking sounds. I read that a way to solve it was to lubricate the point where the coil meets the top hat so I did that and it solved it. Second problem was that the fronts made a popping noise every time I turned. Reading around on ScionLife some people said it was normal, I brought it back to AutoFashion a few times to have them check it out, they tried everything they could but couldn't find out anything wrong with it. I got tired of it and sold them to Ryan (talagangcrazy) who I do not know if he's still having those problems or not, but I made sure to let him know of it before he purchased.
Now I'm rolling on Tokico's and S-techs, couldn't be more happier with my current set up.
If you want full coilovers, I'd look into getting some Tein SSP's, basics, H&R's, B&G's, HKS, etc.
Maybe I had bad luck with my experience with coilovers, I don't know to be honest but if I were to ever go back to coilovers, I would go with a higher end brand.

..and are tokicos + hotchkis = good combo? How LOW you want to be?.... U saw my car I have the Progress Drop 1.8 ALL around. The Hotchkis is 1.7 Front and like 1.9 Rear?....Then I heard bad things about Hotchkis Springs like they Rust or break... Depends on how low u wanna go!....And also if you want to Upgrade to larger wheels too.

I have a few buddy's that have Corolla's and they said the same too about the K-sports. Odd thing is that they all love Megan coilovers.

| Im rollin wit the hotchkis 1.7/1.9 on OEM and I wish I had sprung for some struts, but i digress. My look however is tight considering Im rollin on 18's. But even wit the OEM struts its a pretty good ride. Now I just need that dang rear sway. Anyone? | |
