| I was talking to ArizonaTurbo last weekend and he was suggesting doing 215/35/18 all the way around. He said if he would have done it over he would have gone that way him self. I wanted to get some more opinons on this. Here is a pic of the stretch on the 9.5 with that tire size. | |

| looks nice, and i guess sounds nice, but i heard that if you hit a bump to hard when you have strech tires that you might loos the tire of the rim or something like that. | |

| yeah, it is super risky to roll with tires stretched like that, but the xA isnt a daily driver, so we may be able to get away with it if we drive carefully to shows. lol | |

| Stretching Tires is dumb...You loose the sidewall support of the tire!...Thus un-enhancing the purpose of what the tire is made to do!!! | |

| Here is my opinion on it. First off the wheels are custom painted. Do you want to risk hitting a little rock or bump in the road and chipping the wheel? If so them do it. If not get a tire that fits the rim right and get them to fit the xA right. | |

The tire needs to be stretch to fit inside the fender. Not doing it to look cool. Doing it so the rims we have will fit and not rub, since its too late to roll the fenders due to the paint on the car.

There is no way the wheel will fit with a right size tire. We were planning on getting 225/35/18s but most shops out here are over priced for them. If we get the right size tire on them, and bag the car, then the fenders will rest on top of the tire there for breaking the welds in the rear quater panel.

| Yeah whats the point of stretching your tires if you arent lower enough right. Remember the reason why people stretch tires is to clear their wheelwell. Like J said if you dont need to then dont. | |

yeah, we need to. the back tire is 18x9.5 +35. Its more than likely gonna rub with regular tires, I rub the crap out of my back tires on the xb w/ 18x8 +35. We arent just stretching to stretch. We have air ride that needs to be installed and all of that jazz. Just trying to make everything work. I really dont care, its not my car. she can do what ever she wants.

LOL, damn, thats a crazy ass stretch. Im not trying to convince, I just trying to get feedback. Cause if this car is gonna have wheels by Independnce show, I need to figure out what size tires will work best. 215/35 or 225/35

| ok, you have a few things here to look at.
A) when are you going to bag it? You have been talking about it for a long while now.
B) If and when you bag it. You say the front is like 2-3" off the ground. So if you lay it out, it will only go 3" lower. Will you actually tuck any tire at that? I dont remember how much gap you have now.
C) You talk about rubbing, if you have air there will be no rubbing.
So should you get the right tires now and not risk the scratching the wheels or anything like that? Or do you go for the stretched look and worry about going in and out of ever driveway and any pothole on the road that could possibly ruin the paint on the wheels. That is your call there. Just some points to look at.

Just some points to look at. Just waitin got get valves and fitting and the air ride is complete. Right now the front is 2.25" off the ground with a little bit of gap, no looking to tuck tire at all. want the fender and the lip of the wheel to sit flush. I am saying that with the width of the rims, when we go to dump the back end the fender wont clear the tire if its not stretched some. The rear is 18x9.5 +35 off set with 15mm spacers on them, so they more than likely are gonna poke out. I dont know, its frustrating, so many differnt opinons and I dont know anything about this. I only do it cause Amber knows less and she dont wanna ask any questions. So please excuse me if it seems I have an attitude, Its not towards anyone, its just at the situation and trying to get this car ready.
