Camera help

I cant figure this out. I have not plugged in my camera into my laptop in a while and now when I do then computer does not see it is even there. On the camera the screen would go black and then start downloading the pics. Now it just says busy for about 2 seconds and then goes back to camera mode. I can not see the camera anywhere on the computer at all. I think the laptop did some updates but really do not remember.

I have a HP laptop with Vista and then the camera is a Cannon XTI. Anyone know what it could be or can point me in the right direction to look. I tryed reinstalling the software for the camera, but that did not fix it.

you may want to go to cannon's web site and download updated drivers for your model cam. and install them.

also with windows vista your camera may show up as a removable disc storage not a camera.

Yeah it worked great for a while and then all of a sudden it didnt. I dont know what changed.

what is the camera model ill find the drivers for you. and try uninstalling all of the software and the old driver even delete the old registry files for the camera and driver in command prompt using "regedit", then try installing new drivers and software.

It is the Cannon Digital Rebel XTI. Thank you. I will try that for sure.

Ok, I worked on this for a couple hours last night. I deleted all kinds of things that other people say where causing issues with the cameras. Then this morning, I see a spot that says there is drivers missing. So I choose check for drivers and it says I have the most recent drivers. I dont get it.
