Toyota Speedway at Irwindale

Toyota Speedway at Irwindale, aka "The House of Drift," is home of the first sanctioned drifting event back in 2003. Formula DRIFT has made this the traditional final stop of the season. The infamous banked oval into tight turns has become a staple of the series. This track is the home course for most of the drivers and the competition will be fiercer than ever.

As the final competition of the season the drivers will let it all hang out and go for the victory. Last year the Castrol SYNTEC Power Cup Championship was decided at the Finals. Can Tanner Foust repeat? This event also marks the 3rd stop of the Tires.com Triple Crown and is still anyone's for the taking. Who will come home with the grand prize? Last year's champion Chris Forsberg was awarded and crowned at this event. With everything on the line this will be the Final Fight!


Schedule of Events

Saturday October 11, 2008 – Main Event Day

9:00am - 5:00pm - Ticket Will Call (Venue)
1:30pm - 2:30pm - OPEN PRACTICE: Top 32 (Track)
2:00pm - 10:00pm - GATES OPEN TO THE PUBLIC (Venue)
2:30pm - 4:30pm - QUALIFYING #2: Top 32 (Track)
5:30pm - 6:15pm - AUTOGRAPH SESSION (Circuit City Rig)
7:00pm - Opening Ceremonies / Driver Introductions (Track)
7:30pm - MAIN COMPETITION BEGINS (Track)
9:45pm - Trophy Ceremony (Podium)

I saw Drift for the first time at Scion VIP in Vegas and it is the craziest shit ever. I might go if I have some extra scratch. I don't know though Lenny, am I going to get JDM tickets if I buy them online? Sorry, I don't think anyone's droppin that one.

The first time watching Drifting in person was at JGTC a few years back.......AWESOME!

And then again a few weeks ago at Infineon.

Nothing compares to seeing it in person.

I can sit there and watch it, but really do not find the concept in it? you slide around kickin tire debris everywhere, hit walls, people cheer, and that's about it. Pretty cool though.

me too, irwindale is cool place to watch the races....

yeah, i've been there a couple of times with my dad and watched the midget car races.
