Direct TV Question

for the past week the direct tv signal has not been working in my bedroom. however it still works perfectly fine in my living room. I've done numerous resets on the box itself too. Now where it gets weird. after the long reset delay it says "searching for satellite signal" and if you press the "directory guide" that shows the channels is blank as well. Usually when reset, the directory guide will show the channels and programs on tv. I think its my card and not my box. Anyone been through this similar situation?

sounds like your card is it pirated? We did that for a few years but Direct TV sends out signals that will erase pirated cards or black boxes. you might also have a bad box.

usually it takes up to 30 mins to find satellite signal. how long are you waiting or is the add kicking in to fast?

I called directv to help me with a problem i had and they walked me Thur the whole process. If you call and they walked you Thur the process and figure out that its a hardware problem they will send someone else out to replace bad parts.

I know some boxes are outdated cause they're coming out with alotta HD now. o.O My uncle was talking about how he had to get a new box cause of the HD upgrade.. except his is pirate, so I dunno. Lol.

i would call directv, but what ever you do skip the faq help section it tries to send you to.

we had some issues out here with dirty signals in the house is your room near a AC or any major appliance ? anything that uses a ton of energy or puts out any signal
